Hi there i have previously completed an interview and assessment for a specific role. I was later informed that I had not been succesful in the interview. I had been looking on the internal mail system and found another vacancy that I could apply for.

Both myself and a colleague have applied for the vacancy and been given interview dates and times. Now we have both been told we can not attend the interview as it is the same assesment as previously completed. Even though the job is funded by another funding body and would be delivered in another area.

It's like saying to someone that you have one chance to pass your driving test if you fail you do not get another chance.

Can this actually happed? Both myself and my colleague are facing redundancy. can anyone offer any advice.

Sounds like you need to talk to a union rep.

I think if their HR policy doesn't specify that an assessment for one position can be applied to a second position, they on very weak grounds, especially if they then select you for redunancy. You'd have a fair case then for unfair dismissal based on unfair selection for redundancy as you were not permitted to interview for other positions.
