Hi

I have been given a list of cars to select from for a company car. Where do I get the original market values of these cars that the Revenue use so I can select a car with a smaller amount of BIK .
I will be keeping this car for 4 years - does the OMV amount apply for all 4 years or is depreciation built in for year 2,3 etc.?

Thanks

The OMV is the cost or list price of the vehicle and this is accepted by revenue.

There is no deduction for depreciation for later years

e.g. If you buy a car which is say 2 years old (as some people do) the BIK calculation is calculated on the list price of the car (OMV) 2 years ago.

Revenue will allow a 10% deduction off the list price as this is what a buyer would normally be able to negotiate if buying privately.
