Hi all,
Hoping someone might be able to help me on a couple of queries I have. I have now officially been on the jobseekers benefit books for 66 days. I have applied for a number of jobs, but obviously I have not been called for interview. The jobs I have been applying for have been within my level of experience, however, as I do not have much experience of 'debt recovery' I assume this is why I have not been called upon.
I notice that there are a few jobs in a certain field, one that I have no experience of, however, I believe that if I could do a certain type of course (full time, for one year) that this would help me get my foot in the door to this arena. I called into the SW office today to enquire about a particular course, and was told that as I am only on the register for 66 days and not 78 that it is more than likely that I will not be able to commence this course this year. Would anyone know if there is anyway around this? I have a BTE form I think it's called, to complete, but the lady there seemed to think it was highly unlikely I would be able to begin this month.
Other query I have is the CE scheme - being only 66 days on the register, could I apply for these? If I can, would I be able to obtain any additional allowances, such as costs to travel to the workplace etc?
Thanks in advance for any help, advice or suggestions.
