Committal Summons

Is there anything that can be done to postpone/cancel a committal order once it has reached the Garda. The order is for money owed to a lending acengy and the Gards have call to this persons home but he was not there. Obviously he does not want to go to prison.

Obviously the individual in question should be getting advice from a solicitor.

Normally in a case like this the Gardaí call out to advise the person there is a warrant for arrest and tell them they have a week to sort out the matter or they will be back to execute the warrant and take him to jail. They don't want to send a person to jail for trivial things such as debts.

Get the person to contact the creditors solicitor and have the warrant stayed.
