Commercial vehicle turned private - DOE or NCT?

Hi all,

I have a VW transporter that was previously taxed commercially. When I needed to re-tax I needed to go to the tax office and present my DOE cert - was not possible to do online with a PIN. Last year I did the DOE but then when taxing the vehicle I changed the class to private as it is no longer being used for commercial purposes. This year when my tax renewal letter came it had a PIN - so renewed online. No need for a DOE cert. My question is - do I continue with the DOE even though it isn't necessary for taxing - or do I need to register the van for an NCT??

ive a ford transit camper van which until march would have been nct but is now doe so i guess your van will still need a doe test.
