Combi washer-dryer not drying properly

I have a combination washer-dryer for the last 3 years - the joys of management companies not allowing lines. I've noticed a few times recently that the drying cycle starts, and dries to a certain amount, but if put on again (to finish the drying if it needs more than 2 hours drying) that the item is soaking wet - in other words the drying cycle is having the opposite effect.

Can't find the manual!

Any advice?

Same thing happened to us. A colour catcher was stuck in the pipe so the water started backing up into the machine when the drying cycle was on for a bit. We called out a washing machine repairman as we didn't have a clue what was wrong, if you know someone thats handy they'll have it out in 5 mins.

Spent last night (fruitlessly)looking for the filter. ANy idea where it might be? It's a Hotpoint Acquarius.

It may be hidden under a panel at the front of the machine, at the very bottom. You need to pull off the panel with your hand to get at it. The panel should come off easy enough.
