My son has just moved into an old bungalow and fitted a mixer tap to the bath for a shower, on trying it he found that it will not work because the mains supply is going to the cold tap on the bath, and the hot must be from the header tank. I have suggested that he fits a pressure regulator valve to the cold supply to the bath to knock the mains pressure down to about 1bar.
Has any plumbers out there done this? The alternative is to bring a cold supply from the header tank which is a little more work.
