I work in a busy surgery and we have been getting persistant calls looking to speak to one of the surgeons. They have been persistant and deviant in their attempts (personal call / he knows me etc / being vague where they are calling from and why / will not divulge the company name / vague 'financial advice in this global recession' speil when pushed and questioned etc).

We just got a call AGAIN from the same crowd (same american lady, background noise etc). This is the 6th call in 2 weeks. Each time I have clearly stated that we do not particiapte in surveys / cold calling and requested they do not ring again.. all to no avail!

As I do not have the company name (wont reveal it) nor contact details, what can we do?
All help appreciated, it is most frustrating and their persistance (on the work landline number) is infuriating!

I don't think B2B is covered by any cold calling regulations, if they won't give a name just hang up.

Just found this: [broken link removed]

Seems we can opt out of calls, may take up to 28days to come into effect though.
Slightly more professional than hanging up on possible patients (but there are times you would be tempted!)
