Cohabiting couple with Married Tax Credits ???

Well as per title just wondering if someone can tell me if a cohabiting couple with one person worker can claim the other persons tax relief ? Or do you have to be actualy married ?

Indeed, think of it like a form of government compensation scheme, like REPS- an ongoing grant to make marriage more attractive.

However, watch this space, since plans are afoot to give status to co-habiting couples.
