Coastal towns

for retired people that want to live in a coastal town - does anyone have any suggestions on ones that are considered the safest as well has are the lowest cost to buy or rent in?

+1. I'd recommend the southeast coast, only 1 hour from Dublin. Lots of properties both for sale and for rent in almost any small town in Ireland at the moment. While the west is stunningly beautiful in parts, on retirement you have to think about access to all of the services such as hospitals, transport, shopping, library, easy walks, etc.

Dunmore East , gorgeous fishing village well served by hotels , bars & restaurants & only 8 or 9 miles from Waterford - seems to be quite a few properties on the market at the moment.
