I'm looking for the plastic coal effect that is in electric fires (J R fire units is the name on the back of the fire). Tried Dimplex and they gave us the number of a fellow in Inchicore. Tried him and he said he did have a couple but that he'd sold them. Can get no reply to the phone no. for J R Fire Unit (after lunch, on Friday - would they be not working or gone home?). Tried Knowles in Dun Laoghaire and they said they haven't seen any in a couple of years. The plastic has gone brittle from the heat of the bulbs and broke when replacing the bulbs so I would imagine that replacing it with a new one would be advisable.
