Clutch Problem?

When I accelerate in 4th or 5th gear the engine speed increases but there can be a delay before the car speed increases. Is this a clutch problem. The car is a 1996 Micra. Thank for any replies.

my 1l starlet is pretty much the same
don think its anythin too serious just that its so difficult fo engine to turn the wheels at 4 5 gear that there probably is some slippage but to be honest i dont really know

Sounds like the clutch in both.
Eventually the problem will get worse and the car will not move at all.

Spot on Frank,slipping clutches are not like wines,they don't improve with age.Get them done before your strandedmad
