Just a quick question for any Mechanic heads out there. Was testdriving a used car today and was wondering if the clutch is on the way out or am I just not used to the model of car I was driving.Basically the clutch pedal was almost fully out before gear was engaged, went up and down through the gears fine no slipping etc. It's a diesel Mondeo 8 years old.

theres no adjustment but fork arms do bend .either way a clutch to be done on a diesel mondeo will cost you a bit

If the clutch is going it will slip a lot more in 5th gear from 40 mph up.
If a new clutch was fitted it could explain the high pedal.
