Clutch burnt out - who pays?

Hi just wondering if anyone can help, friend gave me a loan of a car until I buy one, had it a day and the clutch burnt out, who pays for the new clutch don't want any drama as friend was doing a favour?
How much would a new clutch cost?

Were you driving it hard? If you were not then it's your friend who needs to buy the clutch. If you were hoofing it around in first then you shuold pay (for at least part of it)!

No was only in first starting off Literally only driving the car 25 min and the clutch burnt out.........
