Help.... I work for an UK engineering company with office in Dublin & Belfast. We have three business units in the Dublin office. I was told last week that my business unit is to be shut as they can no longer sustain costs associated with running the operation. Whilst we are short on work at the moment I have significant active bids ongoing and awaiting client decisions to proceed. If they make all my business unit staff redundant in Dublin thereby closing this line of business can they still pursue any of my existing bid opportunities and use their UK office to deliver the projects? Can they still seek out work in my line of business? I heard that if one of my active bids start up it may be illegal for them to have staff from UK working in the Dublin office after we have been made redundant? If this is the case, what is the period of restriction?
