Hi, I'm looking for an antique clock restorer around the Dublin area - can anyone point me in the right direction or, even better, provide a recommendation?
Thanks in advance!

There used to be two brothers who ran a specialist clock restoration/repair business upstairs in a premises on Wicklow Street if I recall correctly. If you ask in Weir's on Grafton Street they might be able to tell you if they're still there. Alternatively Vincent O'Neill in Goldfinger Jewellers on South Anne Street (upstairs in premises near Sheridan's Cheese Company) might be able to suggest somebody.

There's a place upstairs at 21 Wicklow Street, got a watch battery replaced there a while back. After the few jewlers I tried couldn't open it, they all recommended them. There's a watch maker and clock maker based in the same workshop. Mad place with all manner of clocks ticking tocking away. Few complimentary articles form the national press going back over the years also framed on the walls.

Certainly would beat the repairer in Kilkenny my parents sent a clock they got as a wedding present to for repair, only to get it back with the entire movement replaced with a modern quartz one!!!

Thanks ClubMan and Leo. You were both spot on, Billy Lawless at 21 Wicklow St. (in case anyone else is interested).

That could be the place that I was thinking of. It's either two brothers or two long time friends who run the clock repair place.
