claiming whiplash,twice?

Is this possible?
For example if some had an accident in the past and had been paid compensation for whiplash,and then many years later is involved in another accident, which they say causes whiplash.
Can that be claimed for twice? seems a bit daft.
 
Well wouldn't both accidents have the equal possibility of causing whiplash on their own?

If you have previously suffered from whiplash then you would be more vulnerable to getting it again. I don't see why the second event shouldn't entitle you to claim for whiplash if it was made worse or reactivated by the second time.

Am I interpreting this right?
 
I don't see why not.
If they made a full recovery first time round why would it even be relevent?

If they broke their leg in a car accident and a number of years later the same thing happens again why should they not be able to claim compensation again?
