Claiming the dole while doing part-time research masters

Hi guys,

I'm just looking for some advice on claiming the dole while doing a part-time research masters. Due to the fact that it's research I'm in the college once a week for an hour with my supervisor but attend no classes so technically I'm available to work which I am at the moment (16 hrs pw) but I'm being laid off in the begining of December, does anyone know if it would be possible for me to claim the dole now that I'm not working but currently looking for work while doing the research masters.

Any advice or information would be great

How long have you been working? Have you built up sufficient PRSI contributions to claim JSB rather than JSA?
