Claiming Tax back on donation.

Hi,

I made a significant (at least it was for me anyway) dontation to a charity this year, and was wondering if anyone could advise on how much tax I can claim back on it, if any (Charity was Unicef) and the amount was 850 yoyos !!

I am assuming that you are a personal PAYE donor and not the owner of a company or something like that (not sure if companies can claim tax back on charitable donations...?).

You cannot claim back the tax but the recipient charity can (on any individual or cumulative donation of €250 or more in any tax year). You need to send a completed [broken link removed] form to the charity so that they can claim back the tax on your donation. You do not benefit from this tax refund.
