I am an employed and under paye system Earlier 2006, I was contributing PRSA to a private pension scheme and hence revenue has increased to my tax band and tax credits as well. last year(2007)I was stopped contributions to PRSA but I was not notified to revenue department so they continued to offer me tax credits and availed this facility. Now this year(2008) revenue sent me P11( first time I received) . While filling the column for PRSA, I have to declare the PRSA Contributions. To declare this, I have to send the form how much I contributed to pension company, Unfortunately I do not have statement to show the amounts, Should I approach revenue and inform them that I have stopped contributions so I settle this amount earlier rather than they identify themselves and penalise me hefty amounts.
