Hi i have just moved to a new apartment and was paying rent for over two years in my previous apartment. Is it possible to claim back some of it?? and how??

Re: Claim tax on previous rent??

Absolutely. You can claim rent relief retrospectively for 4 years. Fill in the Rent Relief form available from your local tax office. It requires your previous landlords ppsn but all you really need is the address and your landlords name.

the thing is my land lord was not a nice person. can he complicate matters??

I don't think so. If you mean by not giving you his PPSN etc. then I think you can still file a claim without them.

Not atall. Simply fill in the form and where you can't get details from your landlord simply state this on the form. There are numerous threads where posters have done this and received their rebate within weeks, though the threads may be hard to find as the subject can be somewhat obtuse.
