I bought a citroen in nov just gone last week it broke down brought it to a mechanic he said the diesel pump in it was was gone and would cost 900 to replace and fit I have heard that you can get a reconditioned one but the mechanic said he will only fit a new one doesnt want to mess around with a reconditioned.

Does anyone know where I could get a reconditioned one are they just as good?

€900 sounds pricey for a new pump fitted. I would have a quick readabout online, say www.honestjohn.co.uk, www.carsurvey.org and see if the equivalent pump can be got on a crashed almost-new Citroen. If its a HDi engine, there will be plenty of fresh pumps.

Or source a new one cheaper.

A diesel pump on a HDi engine would not be a tricky job. I don't think 900 is justified at all. Search around online for more info

I'd get more quotes. Seems expensive. Might be cheaper to tow it somewhere else.

Can you give us more info on the particular year, engine size & model of Berlingo you have ?
