Hi we got married in Feb 2008 in a catholic church ceremony and went on honeymoon for 2 months to Asia travelling which was lovely.. However we forgot to send back are civil registry form (MRF) and now have to contact a cOMMISSIONER OF oATHS! tut tut i know! Any way, what does this involve? how much does it cost? what date will be on our marriage cert?

A commisioner for oaths/ practising solicitor will charge you € 10 per signature on Declaration plus €2 per signature on any exhibit referred to in the declaraion. However that is simply for witnessing you making or swearing the statutory declaration or affidavit as case may be. If a solicitor has to draft documentation for you there will be a fee for that so firstly you need to find out what the commisioner is required to do e.g do you have forms for signing etc...

As I type it dawns on me that possibly you are not based in the republic of ireland and if that is the case then the figures above are not accurate.
