Christmas Sun Holiday-is it possible at all these days?

Is it actually possible at all to get a 1 week sun holiday (besides far flung places) around Christmas these days, assuming a thousand quid for a week in a self catering apartment in Lanzarote doesnt appeal? There seems to be little around and what is available is about €900 for fairly mainstream locations.

Any other ideas or experiences?

Check Ryanair flights to Canaries. Then book accomodation seperately.
Did mine a while back quite cheap.

If you are clever and do as Runner suggests you could do the week for 600-700 euros based on two people sharing. Cheaper if you go start of Xmas week rather than thur/fri.

Better sunshine at Red Sea and only an hour more on the plane. cheapest tour op packages are however nearer to a grand -thouigh very nice accommodation.

Agadir also -easier via a tour op - for 600-700 but ,like Canaries, the weather can vary at that time.

Bluntly there 's nowhere else for Xmas sun within a few hours and for under a grand.

Good sunny weather in the Canaries at xmas is possible, but is far from guaranteed. My folks went 2 years ago and came back very disappointed with the weather they had.
