Anyone know where I could get a christening candle in Dublin city centre?

Many thanks!

Try Easons, I bought one there a while ago. You could always give them a buzz and see do they still stock them

I thought that Veritas were in Middle Abbey Street opposite The Gin Palace and near Liffey Street?

Many thanks all. I rang Veritas and they have them in stock. Forgot to ask them where they were?? middle or lower abbey?

Lower Abbey Street [broken link removed]. I thought Middle Abbey Street was another Veritas store but maybe it's some other crowd.

Update: ah - seems to be the Christian Publication Centre in Middle Abbey Street! Third one down in [broken link removed]. :)

No, NOT in middle Abbey St, as I went there first when looking for a christening candle, and they (politely) laughed me out of the shop!! They definitely don't do christening candles!

Apparently it's really obvious that they don't do christening candles? It wasn't obvious to me, and like I said they were nice about it, but quite emphatic that they absolutely don't do christening candles. I assume that christening candles are a Catholic thing, and they aren't a Catholic organisation???

Just curious - how is a christening candle different from a regular candle? Could you not just buy one of the latter in Hector Greys?

A christening candle is chunkier than a normal one and usually has a fancy design on it. Its kept as a memento of the day and will be used again at confirmation (I think)
