Im building a house at the moment and trying to decide whats the best longterm option for roof....natural slate, roof tile, or tegral trutone. This is going to be my longterm home so looking for longevity. Im seeing a lot of white looking roofs around the place on houses that look like they have the man made slate on them. Is it just a matter of time before the manmade slates discolour? If so whats the chances with a flat black roofing tile keeping its colour longer? Other than being cheaper, are there any other advantages with the manmade slate over an affordable natural slate, e.g. brazilian slate?
