Choosing a Car/Van to buy secondhand.

I know nearly nothing about cars/vans. Rather than get a car and a van I am looking for something that can do the following.

Carry 2 adults (including driver) and 3 children and can also be used as van for carrying gardening tools - junk to the tip etc.

(Obviously reliable and cheap would be nice.)

I'm sort of looking for a cross between a people carrier and a transit van. Does such a thing exist as I'm not really sure what to search for at present.

You will have no problem towing the caravan as well.

Any decent size estate car should do it plenty out there.

Go for diesel, Vectra, Passat, Avensis, etc. should give plenty of room plenty around for all budgets.
