Checking HP on a car In Northern Ireland

I am buying a car in Northern Ireland privately.. I was wondering how I o about checking if there is any HP on the car...

I would suggest you have a look at the RAC website http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/
I am in the final stages of buying a car up in Newry and used them to get a vehicle inspection done, it cost 200euro but happy to spend it.
The mechanic that inspects the car gives you a ring and discusses the car. I used them twice and both time thought it was money well spent, I when for the essential check. But the website will give to more details.
