Check if charities have claimed relief

Is there any way to check if charities have actually claimed back tax relief on my donations. I don’t see anything on my tax returns or never got notified.

In my experience neither the charity nor Revenue notify donors when the charity has claimed tax relief on a donation.
As far as I know, the only way to know if they claimed relief on your donation is to ask them (the charity).

Though I have only done it once I also didn't get a notification. I hope they did as I specifically made the donation the 250 required.

I've done it many times (donation > €250 and CHY1 form returned) with several different charitable bodies and never once received any notification about if/when/whether or not the charity claimed tax relief on the donation.

In case anyone else is curious I found that for years you are not registered for income tax/Form 11 you can view tax refunded to charities in your Statement of Liability (looks like 1 of 2 claimed so far for 2022).

Still did not find anything for 2023 when I was registered for income tax/Form 11 but it’s also possible they didn’t claim yet - it would make sense to do it after Form 11 deadline.

@ClubMan

Me too. Irish charities are in the Stone Age.

I don’t really need to be notified when the charity has claimed it but I used to donate to a charity that didn’t even bother to inform me of the existence of CHYI form never mind chase me for it.
