Cheaper telephone bills

I am presently with smart telecom, and I used to find it cheaper than eircom. But lately I have not notice much of a savings been switched over to them. Can anybody recomend a better company than smart for this. Also is there any way of getting out of paying the ridculous fee of €21.00 for line rental?

Cable or wireless broadband and VoIP possibly supplemented by careful mobile use? There are lots of existing threads on telco charges/packages/tariffs and VoIP that it would be worth your while searching for and reading.
 
My two monthly phone bill from Eircom this month was for €7.17 in call charges. €39.96 for line rental and €9.89 for V.A.T. I really only keep the line for my broadband. One of these days I will get around to comparing all the different packages available. Anyone already researched these packages fully?
 
What about Perlico..This new Irish servoce being advertised at the moment..Worth checking out.....Send them you last bill from Eircom/Smart and ask them to recalculate at they rates and see if there is a saving !
 
You might be better off with a broadband + line rental package from one of the service providers - e.g. Smart for €35 p.m. or BT for something similar. See this thread:
