Cheap Magazine Subscriptions?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to give a friend a magazine subscription for Christmas (probably either Time or the Economist). Does anyone know of any websites where they can be ordered more cheaply? I've found

Try this - http://www.magazines365.com/?crid=0. Service is variable - ordered a gift of VIP for my Mum last Christmas and it has arrived like clockwork. However, a gift of National Geographic ordered at the same time never arrived. After numerous calls I did get a refund though.

Have you bought a copy of the Economist and checked the subscription deals available direct?

From memory, students get about 70% off.
