just arrived back from a wonderful holiday in La Pineda , costa dorado, while chatting to other visitors it appears that a lot of people are getting clever and booking holidays directly with the apartments and then getting flights only , maybe im a bit behind on all this, but we booked our holiday late and got a very good deal but apparently booking it direct is cheaper still, any one tried it , have any thoughts on it.!

Would recommend it if you're up to the research.
We did this last year having spotted a nice, though pricey, place in Majorca. We got onto the hotel's own website and booked our accommodation, got cheap flights on the net and hired a car on the net. All in all I think it came in at about e200 less for the 2 of us than if we'd opted for the package deal. Also the package was just for flights and accommodation and transfer by coach. So we did even better when you consider we had the car for the week to travel around and still saved e200.
Especially useful for European destinations with cheap regular flights.

We're also just back from La Pineda. Great place. We stayed at Pineda Park apartments. Excellent. Where were u? We also wondered about booking direct. Ryanair have flights tob Reus airport and you can also get on a charter.

we stayed in cye marina apartments, nothing special but it suited us, staff were very helpful and nice. could have got our apartment for €29 per night - sleeps four , and its €34 in high season,- definately worth checking out ryan air flights, but not sure about getting flights cheap enough to warrant booking direct
