Booked a weekend flight for Amsterdam to go see the Arsenal in August

2 Lads so looking for something cheap & cheerful as Miss Gunner not going

Anyone got any recommendations ?

I've stayed in Hotel Nadia (www.nadia.nl) which is less than 10 mins walk from the Dam. It's fine for a short stay, but be aware that there are steep stairs from the front door to the hotel reception and rooms and there's no lift! Rooms are "compact and bijou" but for somewhere just to lay your head after an evening, it was fine! Cost me less than €60 per night for a single room in Feb this year, should be cheaper for 2 of you sharing.

Yeah tried that its €60 a night each

I know someone who stayed there and very basic but seems ok thanks

Never knew hotels etc are so expensive in Amsterdam and there are some well you would not put your worse enemy in

Have you tried IBIS? There is one right beside the train station. Also the botel which is an converted ship

cheers tried the Ibis bit more expensive than Nadia so booked that

Boat hotel looks interesting maybe next time?

Rooms I am told are very basic but thats what we want as wont be spending much time in it

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions

Cheers

Stayed in the Luxer , right in the red light. Cheap , spotlessly clean , friendly and right in the heart of things. Booked it on http://www.venere.com (www.venere.com)
