Cheap Car Hire - Lorient France

We've just book a two week holiday in Brittany in June. Flying to Lorient and need to hire a people carrier. 2 Adults & 4 children. Have checked the rates with the Hertz etc - quotes over a grand for the two weeks!

Zafira about 600+ but don't think it would fit us plus our luggage.

Anyone hired a 7+ in France at a reasonable rate? Also do I need to bring my own baby car seat?
