channel surfing using digital DVR ntl

I just got the DVR bopx with ntl digital today in replace of the usual digital ntl box.

i notice that if you want to flick around and see what is on later in teh evening on a particular channel while watching a channel it only shows what is on currently and what is on next on any given channel.

In teh old box you could see a few hours in advance.

(i know this can be done by going into the tv guide but i want to do it while watching a channel at the same time)

Am i not doing it correctly6?

It seems bizarre that the more fancy model would be lacking in thsi facility which the older model had.

Yep, that's a "feature" of the new box. The guide is your only option if you want to look further than now or next.
