Changing windows and floor - which first

Hi,

I've just bought a house and want to replace the existing windows and also put down a semi solid wooden floor in the living room. I'm just wondering if it would be a bad idea to put in the new floor before replacing the windows? I don't want to end up with the floor being ruined during the window installation.

Any comments/suggestion?
Thanks.

No question: do windows 1st, then floor.

In theory, the windows should go in without any lasting damage to the floor (lot of dust etc. to be cleaned up), but there's always a risk it'll be damaged. Why take the risk if you can avoid it?

It would be pretty strange if the opposite happened (i.e. windows damaged by someone putting in a wooden floor).
