Changing windows and doors for higher security ones

Hey all,

Into a new house (almost). Given that it is a secluded and isolated bungalow, we are set on replacing the windows and doors (they could do with updating from an aesthetic viewpoint in any case).

For the sake of lower maintenance, we are ruling out wood and but are otherwise open to recommendations. So, with security a big priority - which window and door types would you recommend? Or even better if there are particular model names / manufacturers you would recommend?

Just heard an ad on the radio this morning for Fairco (although the guys accent did grate on me a little!) - Ireland's first guaranteed burglar proof windows and doors.

Has anyone experience with them? Thanks
 
What part of the country are you based. On knowing this posters might be able to assist with suppliers of quality brands which are imported ?
 
Which brands of windows should i look out for? I'd be interested in importing some decent quality.
