Changing to low risk fund

Im with irish life consensus fund just got my annual statement and i have ten grand less than the last statement even after putting in 11 grand would i be better changing to a low risk option ie cash or stay with present fund and hope the markets improve

Buy high sell low? Sounds like a bad idea to me.

Hi Weston, we are in similar situation with several funds and have been advised to hang tight, bearing in mind that with most investments we got involved with we were using the theory that we wouldnt need/ want to touch/cash in funds for 7 to 10 yrs....but it still hurts like hell to look at the statements and realise we are worth considerably less this year than 2 yrs ago.id say Clubman is right but it doesnt stop me from agonising over it at times
