Changing to car insurance with an open claim

I currently have a commercial vehicle policy but want to change to a private car with business use.

My current policy is not transferrable to a private vehicle and my broker says no insurance company will quote with an open claim.

I would need to get three refusals then refer to Insurance Ireland but that'll be complicated and expensive.

Any advice appreciated.

I looks like you've covered all the bases there.

your current Policy is not transferrable as you are moving from commercial vehicle to private vehicle. If however, policy is in your name, and not a company/trading name, your current insurer should be able to give you a quote.
