Changing security settings to allow Java

When trying to access a bank account on a new computer I got a message "Your security settings do not permit the use of Java." It also said that Javascript Version 1.3 Status is OK. I have Norton 360 installed. How do I change my settings to allow Java to run.

There's usually a checkbox in the browser settings to enable java (assuming you have it installed in the first place). Also make sure you have the lastest version of whatever browser you are using.
