Can you change bath taps? Is it a difficult job. Wondering if i should change them now before i tile around the bath. Budget is tight, so trying to see if i can hold off on changing the bath taps for a bit....

Are the taps on the wall that you are tiling?

If not, you should have no problem changing them.

no they are just on the bath. But i'm tiling around the panel of the bath. Would the plumber need to get under the bath to change

Change the bath taps before tiling. That way if its a problem it wont effect your tiling. No harm in boxing the bath in while your at it. Especially if its going to be used as a shower. It will stop movement.

Most builders dont bother doing this and it causes problems.

Not the easiest job in the world!! even for a plumber.
The bath will probably have to come out to replace the taps as the tap connectors can be very difficult to get off.
This will be to your advantage as you can then fit a proper bath seal to the adjoining walls.(comes in a roll)
It is also a good idea to support the bath with a couple of sturdy peices of timber fitted directly on the flat underneath the bath. The bath support cradles are a complete and utter waste of time, especially if the bath is giong to be used for showering as well.
