I am a frequent browser of the Ask About Money website and find the posts and responses very useful. I have a query in relation to signing on dates.
I signed on in the Bray office in early August and the woman at the hatch said next sign on day is 30th September. However when I collected jobseekers benefit the following Wednesday the slip from the post office stated next sign on day Thursday 2nd September. I rang the social welfare office and was told 2nd September was the correct date.
Last week the receipt from the post office stated next sign on date Thursday 30th September. I have been trying to ring Bray social
welfare office since last Thursday but phone always rings out.
I don't know whether to sign on tomorrow or wait another 4 weeks for 30th September. Is it usual to have an 8 week gap between sign on dates? Could the date on the post office receipt be wrong?
Thank you in advance for any replies.
