change of credit card

hi guys i am changing my credit card from aib to tesco and am transferring my balance to the new card to avail of their 6 month interest free offer. if i close my aib credit card account am i liable for any payments like stamp duty to aib. the 40 euro stamp duty was charged to my account in april.

Watch out for a limit on your transfer, happened to me and couldn't find any reference in the literature to limit to transfer. But still they refused to honour it.
