Change of car ownership - how long?

I sold a car and posted the documentation to the VRU. How long does it take to change the ownership? Will I receive confirmation when it's done.

you wont receive confirmation. I did it recently and it took 2 weeks for the owner posting to when I received my new form

Thanks. I sold the car for a relative and he's anxious to know it's been done. If i ring the VRU will they give out the information over the phone?

Have been waiting about 3 weeks after sending change of ownership forms in myself, they're in no rush
