(iv) increase in the rate of VRT payable on​
Category C vehicles from €50 to €200 from 1 May 2011.


Note anyone buying a new car possibly under the scrappage scheme I noticed the above in the finance bill today.
 
It doesn't apply to cars

VRT Category C

Examples of Category C vehicles include certain commercial vehicles, agricultural tractors and minibuses with at least 12 permanently fitted passenger seats.

There has been some discussion over on Boards about the impact on VRT for classic vehicle import (cars over 30 years old), since they're classed as VRT category C as well.
