Change current a/c from BoI - mortgage application?

My partner and I are considering moving our current accounts from Bank of Ireland to Ulster Bank to avail of free banking. We have both been with BoI for over a decade, have good incomes and no debt. We are considering buying a house in the next couple of years, and was wondering if moving might negatively affect the chances of BoI approving us for a mortgage. We were looking at a house a few months ago and they seemed positively inclined, although I know the proof of the pudding is actually getting the cash! Any thoughts or experience on this would be welcome.

I dont think it would make any difference. I have banked with BOI all my life and ended up getting a mortgage with AIB.

As long as you keep your current account in good shape (i.e. no unauthorised overdrafts etc.) it's not important which bank you have it with, from a mortgage perspective.
