Hi i am going to germany tomorrow with a few friends. We had a friend going from london but she has rung me to say she thought she could travel on her drivers licence and does not have her passport. Was just wondering if this has happened anyone and if there is even a small chance of her being able to travel on her drivers licence ?!

Not a hope. A mate of mine was refused travel within Europe because his passport had expired by a couple of months.

Oh well thanks anyway ! I didn't think these things happened in real life !!!

Not a chance. Go to the passport office with the tickets and get one done on the spot.

If you google the SCHENGEN treaty all will be revealed. But, as the earlier posters said - not a hope.

No chance, was in Munich recently, the customs officials at the airport spent minutes analysing each persons passport, they will not let you enter the country with no passport.

Maybe if you travel by train it's different.
We recently travelled though France, Germany, Austria and Italy. Never had to produce our passports once.
