Am I correct in thinking that I would be exempt from UK CGT if I sell my property there and would be liable for Irish CGT.

Thanks

Double taxation!! Yes assuming you are domiciled, resident in Ireland then you are liable to tax, CGT in this case, on your worldwide earnings. if a double taxation treaty exists you are entitled to input credit.

I wasn't asking about earnings of any description or double taxation - but thanks.

It does seem that an Irish resident with a UK property is fully exempt from UK CGT and is just liable for Irish CGT when the property is sold.

Got info from here: [broken link removed]

My prop in London is going on the market next week - am I allowed to ask any tax experts/accountants in this area (preferably based in Dublin) to PM me as I'd like someone to help with the forms etc?
