Hi,
I'm trying to get my head around the CGT pre-lim tax and the CGT tax year. I worked out that I owed approx 220 euro CGT (on shares sold) between Jan-Sept 04 so I duly paid my pre-lim tax. I sold some marconi shares in November 04 at a loss which means that I should have no liability for the year. Do I now get this back when I make end of year return? Or could I have anticipated that I would have no liability by the end of the year and thus not needed to have paid the pre-lim tax at all. As I say, I'm confused!
