CGT on sale of shares question

I have shares in several companies. I get paid dividends on a good few of these.

My questions is on the CGT on selling shares and the income derived from dividends.

If I sell any shares I am liable for CGT on any profit. I think there is an allowance before CGT is due of about €1300, is this correct? If I do not reach the allowance of €1300(or whatever the amount is) do I still have to report it. (Form 12 is what I will be completing)

When reporting to revenue are dividends to be included for CGT also or is this reported as exrta income (am a PAYE worker)?

thanks for that Brendan. some nice clear examples there.

Any advise on do I need to report if I do not reach the allowance and also the dividends part.

Capital gains can be declared on form CG1, it's simple enough.
Dividend income can be declared through PAYE online.
